Generic Augmentin(Generic name: Amoxycillin/Clavulanic Acid)
Augmentin
Drug Info
Augmentin
Drug Uses: Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
This antibiotic only treats bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.
How to Use Augmentin
: Take this medication by mouth with a meal or snack, usually every 12 hours, or as directed by your doctor.
Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
Augmentin
Precautions: General: While AUGMENTIN possesses the characteristic low toxicity of the penicillin group of antibiotics, periodic assessment of organ system functions, including renal, hepatic, and hematopoietic function, is advisable during prolonged therapy. A high percentage of patients with mononucleosis who receive ampicillin develop an erythematous skin rash. Thus, ampicillin-class antibiotics should not be administered to patients with mononucleosis.
Augmentin
Drug Interactions: Probenecid decreases the renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin. Concurrent use with AUGMENTIN may result in increased and prolonged blood levels of amoxicillin. Coadministration of probenecid cannot be recommended. The concurrent administration of allopurinol and ampicillin increases substantially the incidence of rashes in patients receiving both drugs as compared to patients receiving ampicillin alone. It is not known whether this potentiation of ampicillin rashes is due to allopurinol or the hyperuricemia present in these patients. There are no data with AUGMENTIN and allopurinol administered concurrently.
Augmentin
Possible Side Effects: Amongst the possible side-effects of this medication are diarrhea, vomiting and a few other conditions. These do not usually require medical attention. However, if the patient experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, jaundice, fever or severe diarrhoea, it is necessary to contact a doctor immediately. As with all antimicrobial agents, pseudomembranous colitis has been associated with the use of amoxicillin-clavulanate. Amoxicillin is a member of the penicillin family of antibiotics, and therefore should not be taken by patients allergic to penicillin.
Augmentin
Overdose: Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Symptoms of an Augmentin
overdose may include ringing in your ears, dizziness, headache, confusion, drowsiness, sweating, shortness of breath, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Augmentin
Storage: Store at or below room temperature (77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Augmentin
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Common Questions
How long will a supply of Augmentin last? Generally you should have at least a month's supply with one pack of Augmentin. This only depend on the quantity you order. The more you order the less work to get other supplies. That means more FREE time for you!
Q. Is Augmentin available outside the USA? A. Yes, although we do not have any distributors in foreign countries, we have successful shipped Augmentin to doorsteps around the world.
What are the differences between Augmentin brand-name drugs and Augmentin generic drugs? You probably know that pharmaceutical companies carry out extensive research and clinical testing to win approval from the Food and Drug Administration for new drugs. The new drug is then protected by patent for at least 10 years. Hence, a brand-name drug. When the patent expires another drug company can "copy the recipe" for the brand drug. This "copy" is called a generic drug. The FDA requires that generic Augmentin have the same active chemical composition, be dispensed in the same dosage form such as a tablet or capsule and be taken in the same dosage as the brand-name drug.
